Jeremy Wright announces program of public meetings

Jeremy readopted at Eathorpe

Local Conservative Party members endorsed Jeremy Wright to stand again as the Conservative Party candidate in Kenilworth and Southam last night at a packed public meeting in Eathorpe.

Speaking afterwards Jeremy announced a series of public meetings the length and breadth of his constituency.

"The last thing any of us would wish for in December is a General Election, but Parliament is at stalemate, unwilling or unable to resolve Brexit and move on to address other issues. That has to change and a General Election is now the only way to bring about that change.

This General Election campaign will also have to be different. Some candidates will talk about reducing waste and protecting our environment and yet deliver a lot of paper through your door. I will limit what I put through your door.

Most importantly I believe you should be able to assess your candidates face to face. I will be knocking on doors, but campaigning in the dark and cold of November and December means fewer people want to have long conversations on the doorstep. So I will be holding more public meetings than ever before, where we can discuss the issues of this campaign fully. The full details are below. Please feel free to attend whichever meeting suits you best and question me on any subject you like."

Further dates and hustings with all candidates may also be added to the diary in due course.
